Old writing

I added a new short story from the Tales of the Realm series. I think I wrote it about 5 years ago or something like that. Tales of the Realm was supposed to be my version of Greek mythology. When I started it I had a lot of ideas for different stories with my made up gods and goddesses but I abandoned it and never picked it up again. It’s one of those things that I don’t know of I’ll ever work on again.

Vacation is another short story that I wrote inspired by a dream I had. I guess I saw a horror movie or something like that. Every now and then I have really weird dreams that are a lot like short films. When I wake up I try to recall the dream and write it down. That’s how Expiration date and Boat Trip came to be.

I also found a lot of poems. I remember a friend once asked me about the thoughts behind my poems after she read one. I told her that not all of my poems are disguised words of what I was thinking at that moment. I enjoy writing fiction and of course there’s always a bit of me in everything I write but that doesn’t mean that my written words are an exact representation of who I am. Take this quote for example:

No puedo parar
Debo matar

Quien callará mi mente?
Y quien borarrá las caras de la gente?

De aqui me voy
No puedo olvidar quien soy

Con la cabeza en alto me voy marchando
Porque yo, seguiré matando

The poem talks about killing people and not being able to forget the victim’s faces. Of course I wasn’t writing about me, it’s pure fiction. Sometimes I write from another person’s perspective inspired by something I read or watched on TV. It’s not fair to judge an authour by what he/she writes. That’s the beauty of imagination, it gives you the power to create.
