“I love your teenage poetry”

April 28. 2010, under News with 2 Comments

Do you like awful and depressing teenage poetry? You do? Then I have good news for you. My poems section mostly consists of bad gothic poetry written when I was 14 or 15 years old. Don’t believe me? Read for yourself.

Now you can use the Facebook Like button to share with your friends my questionable writing. You know you want to. You don’t? Oh well, you need new friends then.

FYI: The post title is a reference to a John B song.

I have a few of my favourites, “Time” and “What lies tomorrow?”. I haven't
written any poetry since college (I think) unless lyrics count.

Glad you like my poems. I thought of taking them down but they've seen so
many incarnations of my sites since Angelfire free hosting. I might as well
leave 'em as is even if they're embarrassing.

Oh, this brings back memories, oddly enough. I haven't seen this type of thing for over four years at least. I did a bit of writing myself starting in my early high school years. I didn't dive into the heart-on-sleeve or why me!? genre myself, but I did read stuff like this on MySpace all the time back in the day.

It's interesting how the teenage mind can create such simple poetry. Thanks for sharing your past works! I doubt I could do such a thing myself, though there are a few exceptions that I may post on my own blog some time. I managed to cut two or three gems back in the day.

Looking back, which poems would you say were your best ones? (If you can manage to pick one out from the others.)
