Wanna be made into a ladies man?
Every time I’m skipping channels and I pass MTV, I read the description of what’s on and it’s usually something about turning nerds into studs. What’s up with that? Sure, I went to school with losers like that and I even dated one. What bothers me is the methods used to teach these boys with low self esteem and social skills to meet girls.
I dated a loser gamer, Dungeons and Dragons playing, chubby outcast in high school. He wasn’t suave or attractive, he had pretty much no self-esteem, and I could probably fit in one of his pant legs. But he was nice and we had a lot of things in common. At least I can say that looks aren’t everything.
Guys don’t need to be overly confident to get a girl. Just having something in common and talking about it is a good start point. Practicing social skills isn’t easy but a few things are common sense. Proper chat/forum etiquette can be applied to real life. There are certain things that are better left unsaid. The more you socialize the more you realize that not everyone shares the same sense of humor.
My advice for social outcasts out there is to be yourself and don’t try to imitate the overly confident guy that gets all the girls. Those guys usually end up alone in life. One thing for sure is that if you don’t try to socialize, you won’t get very far.
Love happens in the strangest of places sometimes, but it takes 2 people for it to happen.
