Influences
I’m the kind of person that really isn’t too particular about anything. Sure I have my likes and dislikes and can be a bit obsessive at times. Naruto is a great example, I read the manga and watch the show, awaiting the newest installment every week. I’ve seen every single Shippuden episode uncut and english subbed released so far. Yet I don’t really consider myself a huge fan, I just like it.
When I really like something I want more of it until I grow tired or it becomes stale, but it’s pretty uncommon for me to stop liking something completely. Take Pokemon for instance, I used to love it when I was 13, and even though I stopped collecting them years ago I still watch the cartoon every now and then and check out what new Pokemon they’ve come up with. It’s a little embarassing hehe, but I’ve always been kinda geeky. I don’t play the games though, I’ve never been much of a gamer. I own a PS2 and very few video games cause my gaming skills are teh sux0rz.
Things I like often influence what I do. There are 4 names that I guess are worth mentioning the first is Jhonen Vasquez. During my freshman year in high school a friend showed me a Johnny the homicidal maniac comic, I liked it so I bought the director’s cut compiled version at a local comic book shop. I’ve been following his work ever since. Andy LaPlegua and JNKY, I admire their talent for creating awesome catchy beats and melodies, and Karolina Szafran, her artwork has inspired me to try new and different things.
It’s hard to really say “So and so is my role model.” I’m a very eclectic person.
