Cloudy with a chance of meatballs

3D movies are only worth watching at the movies. I saw Cloudy with a chance of meatballs with my sister and daughter at the movies in 3D, it’s a really good movie. It’s entertaining and enjoyable. Yesterday I took my daughter to Toy’R'us to pick one toy, the only warning I gave her was that it couldn’t be over $30. She looked at so many things and couldn’t make up her mind, I was getting desperate to leave. I started looking at the DVD racks and showed her a couple I thought she might like. She picked Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. I noticed it wasn’t in 3D. I pondered a bit and remembered my 3D experience watching Coraline. Sure, it’s fun to put on the 3D glasses but the at home experience just isn’t as good as in the movies. So I bought the non-3D version.

We watched it today and I noticed a couple of more details. I love Steve the monkey. It’s a really nice movie. Not all animated movies are fun for the whole family. I didn’t like much Ice Age 3 or Shark Tale. Some writers for animated films really need to edit their work. Why do people forget that good children’s movies can be enjoyed by anyone? Don’t dumb it down. Kids are smart and please don’t forget the parents.
